The Groundhog Day First Grade Time Capsule 2/2/22!

Happy Groundhog Day 2/2/22!

What will you be doing on 3/3/33?
This year's first graders will be
SENIORS IN HIGH SCHOOL!

So, in honor of the brilliant and resilient class of 2033,
we celebrated Groundhog Day BIG TIME.
Our plan is to put our surveys, our drawings,
our persuasive writing, our words of wisdom,
and whatever else we decide is important
into A TIME CAPSULE!

A lively survey was had by the Navigators: "Would you rather have 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring?"

An impromptu mini math lesson: At first we had a 5 and 5 split.
(Gotta love small classes: 9 students plus 1 teacher!)

Then one person changed her mind and we had a 6 and 4 split.

Over in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.
We watched as the announcer proclaimed
SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER!

But here in Tacoma, our groundhog didn't see his shadow.
He even saw a few snow flurries!
Does that mean an early spring is on its way?
60% of us hope so!

We brainstormed a bunch of reasons and persuasive paragraphs.
We were adamant and convincing!

More Art Hub for Kids drawings for your viewing pleasure:

Navigators, be sure to check back on 3/3/33!
The time capsule will be in
THE DEEP DARK DUNGEON
waiting to be re-opened!

Believe me, 11 years will go by quickly!
