Presenting Our Favorites: Gerald and Piggie, Frog and Toad

It was a wonderful Winter Performance put on by the Seabury lower school.

The first grade Navigators enacted several of their favorite story books including Mo Willems' Gerald and Piggie stories and Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad stories.

Piggie and Gerald made great MC's.

Piggie and Gerald played ball with whale
from the book A Big Guy Took My Ball!

"Gerald!!!! A big guy took my ball. Can you get it back?"
"Here I go! Let's see how big this big guy is!"

The big guy is a whale!

"EXCUSE ME! Thank you for finding my little ball."

This is Toad from the Frog and Toad books.

"No one has ever sent me a letter.
Every day my mailbox is empty."

The narrators

Narrator 1: "Frog and Toad sat on the porch, feeling sad together."
Narrator 2: "Frog hurried home."
Narrator 3: "He found a pencil and piece of paper."
Narrator 4: "He wrote on the paper."

Frog: "I have sent you a letter!"
Toad: "You have? What did you write in the letter?"
Frog: "I wrote, 'Dear Toad, I am glad that you are my best friend. Your Best Friend, Frog.'"
Toad: "Oh, that makes a very good letter."
Narrator: "Then Frog and Toad went out onto the front porch to wait for the mail."

The kids chose the books, wrote the script, made their costumes and props in MakerSpace, and memorized their lines. Then they spoke loud enough for a large amount of people to hear in a very large auditorium.

Another memorable, unique, entertaining, student-created performance in the books!

Well done, Navigators!!
