HALLOWEEN. ALL. DAY. LONG. Part 3 Dia de los Muertos Art

Art has worked very well in the Distant Learning realm.
Ms. Angela uses two computers to show herself teaching
and to have a close up view of the process.

The kids come ready with their supply box,
they are focused,
and their results are spooktacular!

HALLOWEEN. ALL. DAY. LONG. Part 2 Room on the Broom and Writing

If you have ever read or watched the animated video of this book, you know that it's quite the treat.

Perfect for trick-or-TREAT day!

We read and watched the book
and then got out our Mini-MakerSpaces.

Our beloved school MakerSpace has been such an integral part of our curriculum, that the Navigators each have a box of supplies from our treasure trove of junk stuff in order to craft, design, create, tweak, and engineer. You would have thought it was their birthday when they each received their boxes. :)

Today's task:
Make a broom plus all the animals that join the witch on her broom!

Look at all our fun, imaginative designs and the stories we wrote.

We always take time to show our friends at home and vice versa.

What if we each had a broom?
What would it look like?
Where would we go?
Who would we take?

This broom has several stories, a restroom, and much more.

These Navigators have soaring imaginations!

HALLOWEEN. ALL. DAY. Long. Part 1 Costumes and Super Sweet Simple Machines

Who says we can't have a super sweet

Halloween experience hybrid style?

Here's what the Navigators did in the amazing 2020 year!

We dressed up:

We even had a quick visit from Ms Wollum!

We make sweet simple machines out of candy:

Here are the instructions and our friends at home.

Here are the supplies.

And here is what we made!

A wheel and axle

A wedge

A pulley

Another pulley design

A pulley with some weights

A wheel and axle

A screw

Put them all together and what do you have?
Notice his wonderful drawings in his science notebook.

And what was Mrs. Towne dressed up as?
Well, here's what some of the Navigators thought she should be:

A fun, super sweet, super sticky time was had by all.
And that's just the beginning of our day.
