In Honor of Eric Carle

In memory of one of our favorite author/illustrators, the Navigators spent a day reading Eric Carle books.

Since we had been tracking the phases of the moon,
we enjoyed the book Papa, please get the moon for me
with fresh eyes.

Remember:
When the light is on the right,
the moon is getting bright.
Waxing: Growing
Waning: Shrinking

We then tried to emulate the style of Eric Carle.

The kids were given supplies and free rein
to create a painting of the moon.

Thank you, Eric Carle.

We love your many (more than 70) books!
